Need Analysis for English Writing Syllabus Development

This study aims to identify the students’ needs in learning English writing promoting syllabus development of skills. research was a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects this were 45 students fifth semester non-English Study Program, analyst department Jayapura Sciences and Technology University. data collected using questionnaire with media virtual meeting what’s up Group. analysis based on theoretical framework that revealed every detailed questions. results found target studying are for their future profession higher education. They want enjoying Writing practice activities at classroom together pair or group. assumed role teacher as facilitator guide teaching activities. Students also enjoy conducting by such picture. Beside they do not like learn grammar directly but recognizing error sentence completing missing text.
